The Northeast Orchestra, a non-profit organization, is dedicated to enriching the communities of Northeast Tarrant County through music awareness, appreciation and by providing live orchestral performances. The orchestra provides area musicians an opportunity to cultivate their talents by performing major orchestral works. We feel strongly that young people should have opportunities to experience live orchestral concerts so we encourage everyone, of all ages, to attend our concerts.
The Northeast Orchestra is an all-volunteer orchestra composed of musicians from the cities of Northeast Tarrant County. In its fifteenth season, the orchestra was founded in the fall of 1989 by individuals who were interested in bringing live orchestral music to the people of Northeast Tarrant County. Our founders were musicians and civic leaders who saw the Northeast Orchestra as a way of encouraging the arts and providing musicians an outlet for musical expression. Our founders secured a D.B.A. using the name Northeast Chamber Orchestra. "Chamber" was dropped from the name after the orchestra grew to a full-sized symphonic orchestra. In January 1995, we were incorporated under our current name: Northeast Orchestra, Inc.
